I am an international private law and comparative law Professor at the University of Geneva and my wife is a PhD candidate finishing her PhD in international criminal law, transitional justice and human rights law. We are looking to rent a room in our house for approx. 1-2 months this fall.
If you are looking for a quiet place surrounded by nature (and you preferably have a car) to write/concentrate for a few weeks and possibly have some nice conversations with two researchers interested in a lot of different fields (international law, international relations, political science, psychology, sociology or many others), please contact us!
We live in a beautiful home with a garden. We are renting a room (approx. 12 m2) with the possibility to use an office for home office (office is in the next room, approx. 20 m2). The room is on the ground floor (separated from other rooms, so you'll have some privacy) with a private bathroom and direct access to a very nice garden (we are surrounded by nature, a forest, some cows and also some mountain goats who live in the forest nearby). The kitchen is common to the house (in the middle floor).
We won't be there everyday since we spend some of our weekends and sometimes more in the mountains.
Prices are the following:
850 CHF for the room + bathroom and use of kitchen and garden.
1200 CHF for the room + bathroom + a separate office (which is a big office of 20 m2) + use of kitchen and garden.
10 min to Nyon (a nice small town on the lake shore with everything your need)
25 min to Graduate Institute Geneva
30-45 min to Geneva City Center
25 min to University of Lausanne/Swiss Institute of Comparative Law/EPFL etc.
30-35 min to Lausanne city center
small village shop (2 min walking)
Aldi, Lidl, Migros, Coop, Denner etc: between 6 and 8 min by car
Highway (in Gland): 6 min by car
Train Station of Gland : 8 min by car (possibility to use our parking at train station, to be discussed). Then, by train to Geneva, it is 18 min to Geneva Center (gare Cornavin).
A car is highly recommended, at least to go to Gland Train Station. If no car, the is also a bus stop nearby but it is a bit less practical.
Please don't hesitate to contact us for more information!
