5 bed, 4 bath newly rennovated home in historic Takoma, DC

Last Updated: May. 23rd, 2022

Rent our 5-bedroom, 4-bath, newly renovated (2020) family home in historic Takoma, DC! Our first floor has a large wraparound front porch, grand entryway, den/guest room or office space with french doors, full bathroom, connected dining and living areas with pocket doors, and a large kitchen with all new electric appliances and walk-in pantry. The kitchen also has an attached sun room that connects via french doors to the back yard. Our second floor has 4 large bedrooms with ample closet space, linen closet, laundry and 2 full bathrooms. One of the bathrooms is en suite with the owner's bedroom. Our third floor includes another bedroom that looks out over the trees in the yard - makes a perfect office. The third floor also a full bathroom and a large open space for watching TV, playing games, crafting and doing art, exercise, etc. The basement contains a storage area with a utility sink linked to the upstairs house, as well as a 2-bedroom soundproofed apartment with its own entrance, which is rented separately. (Our current tenants are staying and are absolutely lovely.) The back yard is very large and great for gardening, playing and entertaining. Currently it is set up with a trampoline, hammock, fire pit, play house, ninja line, outdoor furniture, and raised beds.

If this isn’t enough, our home is just 2.5 blocks from the Takoma Metro Station on the redline, and an easy commute by bus, bike or metro to numerous area Universities. We are one block from Donut Run and Lost Sock Coffee, and we are surrounded by numerous other restaurants, shopping, and parks (we are an easy mile walk to Rock Creek Park and 4 blocks to Takoma Recreation Center with indoor pool and playground). Don't forget to visit the Takoma Farmers Market on Sunday’s!

Available for rent in August with some flexibility on start date, furnished or unfurnished, for one year with possibility of extending to 2 years. We are open to considering leases of other lengths. Looking for people who will enjoy and our home and treat it as they would their own while we are away.

Happy to send additional photos or give a video or in-person tour for interested parties.

Lease Terms: Tenant pays electricity, but internet and water/sewer (~$200 month) are included. Tenant responsible for lawn care, but we have folks who help for a fee if that is preferable. Pets considered on a case-by-case basis. No smoking. $4,600/month unfurnished.
