A beautiful, RENOVATED (using green eco non-toxic materials), FURNISHED AND FULLY EQUIPPED (right down to the bedding and cutlery) cozy one bedroom basement apt (with full separate bedroom). In a unique century arts and crafts period home (with its own separate entrance), beside a lovely neighbourhood park, custom installed maple wood kitchen with full sized appliances (brand new fridge), hand made gorgeous Mexican tile floor throughout, radiant heat, high quality 3 level filtered water throughout the apt (with a brand new top of the line whole house filter), new halogen inset ceiling lights on dimmers (to make the apt brighter and warmer - there are 3 windows in the apt but we wanted it to feel brighter while still warm feeling), private European front load laundry (washer and dryer), and a renovated sparkling ensuite 4 piece bath with Spanish tile floor.
It is located on a lovely tree lined street, on one of the best streets in the Annex, and is a few short blocks from the subway and walking distance to University of Toronto and most downtown hospitals (for those working there). There is a public library a few blocks away, choice of grocery stores within walking distance, and it is steps to great cafes, restaurants, shops and bookstores. There is a small community centre with a swimming pool and fitness area/gym (with a membership price of $25/yr!) and skating rink around the corner, and many fitness (Cross Fit, Boxing, Pilates, Yoga and private gyms) and creative arts classes in the area, and close to one of the larger parks in Toronto with an outdoor pool/outdoor skating rinks. There is also a wonderful natural food coop (Karma Co-op) and Fiesta Farms (a "Whole Foods like" jewel of a grocery store that promotes affordable local foods and has an amazing selection - people travel across the city to shop there!) 2 blocks away. A few blocks away, there is a seasonal local farmers market once a week - the Annex is a vibrant and livable neighbourhood and the apartment is an quiet oasis right in the middle of the city.
Please note that there is no smoking or pets due to allergies. The rent includes all utilities, and wireless high speed internet. Note that the heat in whole house is from a high efficiency boiler/hot water radiators (there are no forced air gas or ducts which are in most homes and which can circulate dust/viruses/allergens/noise throughout the house or apt).
Extremely affordable street permit parking with the city (right in front of the house and about $17 month) is readily available too.
We are open to mid-term to long term rentals - and we have rented to a visiting academic/professional in the past. This is an ideal rental for one person coming from out of town as the apartment is fully furnished and equipped with all kitchen items, bathroom accessories, linens etc. We are looking for a responsible and considerate person who will treat the apartment with care, and you will find us to be helpful, respectful and responsible as well.
