Newly renovated 1-bedroom guest suite in High Park is ready to host visitors to the westernmost edge of the downtown core. Enter the suite through a court yard, under mature 100 year old spruce trees. Across majestic High Park, and a short walk to the beach, this is where the city meets the forest, meets the lake. From here, there's also fast and easy access to nightlife in Parkdale, Queen West, and Dundas West. You can quickly get to anywhere in city from here by foot, bike, bus, rail and car.
The ceiling is 1.95m/6'5" high and there's a bay window in the laneway passage that's about the same height, so very tall people beware. The property itself was built in 1911, and the grounds are somewhat uneven because the neighbourhood was built on the edge of a ravine. You'll likely be too focused on the incessant bird song – which you'll hear from under towering trees, as you enter through the courtyard – to notice such things. The kitchen is fully functional with all the amenities. The bed is comfortable, and includes a feather duvet which you may need even in the Summer, since it stays nice and cool down there, even in hot weather.
The basement unit is new, modern, and minimal. The entrance from the courtyard is shared with the main house, so I'm seeking a friendly, family vibe with guests. The courtyard will provide some seating for an al fresco coffee and breakfast in the morning, and there's also a front porch where you can watch the sunset in the evenings. You can also explore innumerable magical spots within a short walking distance from the house.
I am a members of the LGBT community and I welcome allies and friends of all creeds and colours. This house is a safe space.
