1. Location, location, location
In Verdun, one of the most vibrant neighbourhoods of the city, ranked 11th in the world in 2020 and its commercial street, Wellington, the 1st coolest street in the world in 2022. Less than 5 km from McGill & Concordia, 200 meters from Wellington (all you need to shop), 300 meters from the subway stop De l'Eglise (green line), 800 meters from the St.Lawrence River (long jogging and bike trails by the River and an urban beach near the center of the neighbourhood).
2. Family house with parking and garden
Ideal for professors or students coming to Montreal with their families (2 rooms for kids and a master bedroom with balcony), nearer to Concordia, McGill and UQAM, less than 20min by métro or bike! Even walkable if you like long walks. It's an old house built around 1900, it does feel like an old house, not everything is renovated but the essentials yes (kitchen/bathroom). I am currently in the process of freshing up the rooms (mattresses/decoration/furniture). It is very charming as it's all an open space on the first floor and rooms are upstairs. It feels very homy as most visitors told me and a great place to have people over. It's rare to have a full house to ourselves so near to downtown, with parking (2 spots) and large garden. It's also near the highway for weekends in nature in Laurentides or Eastern Township.
3. Detailed description by floor
Main floor: entrance balcony, lobby, 2 living rooms, 1 dining room, one kitchen, 1 small restroom and washer-dryer on the side, one large outside terrasse and a wooded courtyard.
Second floor: stairway, 1 open room for office between the 3 rooms, on the left towards the backyard there's a master bedroom with balcony, on the right side (road side), 2 small rooms with road-side balcony (very quiet street, not an issue) and a full bathroom (bath & shower). I also made a second quasi office (in the kitchen to enjoy the light and the wooded courtyard when it rains).
4. Car for weekend outside town
I also have a car (kia rio 2013, 125K) that you could need mostly for getting out of town for outdoor activities. The public transit is too efficient (and cycling) to take the car to go anywhere in town, except for further neighborhood. It could be added to rental if you need. As I have a private parking, it could be interesting for you and your family.
