Seeking Madison-area house-sitting or rental

Requirements:

Emeritus faculty in English & Creative Writing from the University of Miami seeking to come home to the Midwest, where I grew up (Dubuque). My partner and I are both retired (she is a multi-time Emmy winner in journalism) and want to house-sit or rent a place from which we can look for our next home. Dates are flexible as to length of stay, although we want to move in as soon as possible; the furnished place can be small--one BR is fine--W/D, AC, wifi, a small kitchen about the only needs. Small house or apartment, condo, or cottage, etc. We have a small dog, Driftee, an aging Chihuahua mix, affectionate and well-behaved.
